Environmental Health provides consultation and expertise to the citizens reporting animal bites in Jackson County and those Jackson County citizens exposed outside Jackson County.

Please call (850) 482-9227 during working hours and (850) 526-2412 after hours and on holidays.  The Jackson County Health Department's answering service will locate an Environmental Health employee to respond to your call.  Please continue to call until someone from Environmental Health contacts you.

Please do not shoot any biting animal.

Contact Jackson County Animal Control at (850) 718-0021 to assist in capturing a biting animal.

Never shoot a biting animal in the head.  The animal head must be in good condition in order to determine if the animal is rabid.

Coordinator of this program is Raymond Baxter.
